My husband loved his corned beef .sandwich. He said the meat was lean and tender. The sandwich looked like a smaller version of the Carnegie Deli sandwich. We were happy to see that they carry diet Dr. Brown cream soda . I had a very satisfying hamburger and fries. The service was efficient and fast. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is a little drab and outdated.

Very good Jewish deli. Great hard salami-- and that's tough to find. Not much of an atmosphere. But helpful staff and also a good breakfast. Good French toast. I'd go back here. Definitely and authentic NY feel.

Very good bagel. I ordered cream cheese bagel with salmon on top. It's delicious. My husband took chicken cesar salad. Ambiance is casual. They also have a big menu. The staff is welcoming. Ideal for breakfast or quick lunch. Will come back or maybe I will call for delivery. I already took the menu with me for my next order.

First time here. Fun laid back atmosphere. They have unique items like celery soda (don't knock it til you try it). Claudia and Ebony were super helpful and really made the experience. We sampled the tuna salad and chicken salad and they were both amazing. We ordered the R&T burger and Mega Blue Burger. Neither was amazing. Both kind of dry and flavorless. However, I will definitely be back for the tuna and chicken salad and Cream Soda!

A local staple that's simply fantastic. Great food - great and fast service. For good deli there's only one spot on 41st! Try the matzo ball soup or potato latkes! They're the best! Also the deli sandwiches are huge. Bring your appetite and you'll be set!

An oft visiting customer I always lean towards the smoked fish platters, my New York calories beg for it. Most times when I am with someone we share the two or three option platters which is way way overloaded! Love the non pretension of the place and I've used them for ordering business breakfasts as well. Yes, the service may not be the fastest, but it is a comfort zone. I think I've had lunch there maybe once, billy for a nice brunch this is the spot. Weekends are busy, and noisy, but the food reliability is what keeps me happy! Def a repeat customer and it goes it's job perfectly. Ps- a friend once ordered the challa French toast and boy, I was in love!!! No carb left behind! We cleaned that like nobody's business!!!

It took a good 10 minutes standing at the counter before anyone even acknowledged me, let alone take my order. After I put my order in, it was about 15 minutes before it was ready. I ordered a pastrami Rachel. The sandwich was good. The service was pretty terrible. No one was friendly, they all seemed stressed and understaffed, and kept telling everyone to be patient. It just seems like their system of operations isn't working. They looked like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads chopped off. Meanwhile the dining room had a couple servers just standing around... Anyways, the pastrami slices on the sandwich were nice and juicy. The bread was crispy and the slaw was good. I didn't like their deli pickle. I doubt I'll be back because I don't want to endure staring at a counter full of stressed out employees running around trying to figure out how to operate a restaurant. I rate the sandwich itself 4 stars. The service is a big fat 0. OH and another thing that bothered me was their napkins. They're so cheap that their napkins they buy are like tissue paper and fall apart when you wipe your hands...THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!

I came in to have lunch with a lovely friend of mine found the place to be very clean very friendly perfect lighting we had the best spot in the location overlooking Arthur Godfrey 41st Street the food is extremely large in portions which is nice considering the price, It was so much food that I was able to take some food to the beach with me. The quality is definitely their and you can taste it and the staff is very friendly not to mention the manager "Josh" makes a positive impression. I highly recommend Roasters & Toasters to everyone!

  • Carlos C.

The food was terrible, but there's plenty of it! I tried both the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. The meat was pale and grey, and I couldn't tell the difference in flavor - both tasted of nothing at all. So disappointing! On the plus side, the young woman working the counter was a dynamo - one of the stars is for her

  • Tony T.

A quaint, New York style deli that serves breakfast all day. I had the Challah French toast with Nutella which was very delicious and reasonably priced. However, some price models felt a little off to me. Almost $6 for a small side of bacon or sausage? Over $3 for a simple glass of milk? Sandwiches averaged ~$12-16. That seemed a little excessive, while burgers remained in the more reasonable $10-12 range.

Oh-My-Gawwwd! (Picture Janice from Friends saying this as this place is about as Oy Vey as it gets) Wanted to try an authentic Jewish deli while we were in Miami Beach. Found this place completely by accident while stopping at the CVS across the street. The pile of succulent meat atop the perfectly toasted rye with just the right amount of kraut was to die for. You call that a Reuben? Indeed. It was a REUBEN! All caps because it's worth shouting about. 4 stars instead of 5 because... (a) a bit pricey ($13.50 for said awesome reuben) (b) $5 for shoe string fries that weren't anything special (and such small portions) Service was wonderful. A lovely lady, from Peru we learned after a little chitchat, took care of us like we were visiting dignitaries. Would go again in a heartbeat...pass the lox! I need a shmear!!

    (4)
  • Howard B.

4 stars with reservations. Food was as authentic Jewish style deli as any (not kosher). Sandwiches were generous and the rye bread fresh. My only hold back was the slow service. To their defense, it was a full house on New Year's Day. Would absolutely go back or do take out if really busy.

I have made this a staple lunch spot every time I am in Miami...which is quite often nowadays. I have tried quite a few things in the menu and Roasters has never disappointed me. My first trip here was by far my favorite. I ordered the BLT and was I surprised when it came out and was so big it was hard to take a bite out of. The bacon was perfectly cooked an the thick slices of tomato were at the peak of ripeness. My only complaint about this restaurant is that two of the times I have visited I did not receive the fries I had ordered with my sandwich. The server was more than happy to correct the error though so it was a very small issue.

    (4)
  • Elisabet R.

Despite the fact that the power went out shortly after we arrived, our server was incredible and found a way to get us our breakfast. The lox were mild but tasty and the eggs, turkey sausage and juice were great! Everyone working there was super friendly and attentive which made our entire breakfast in the dark truly fun!! Im excited to come back soon!

Today was the first time I've eaten at this location since it became Roasters & Toasters. I had gone there a few times with my dad before. I think it was called Arnie's. I went with my husband, mom, and my friend. We had a late lunch. I ordered the large split pea soup. It was good, but so thick you could eat it with a fork. I would have liked it a little soupier. Mom had a pastrami sandwich. She said it was just okay. The meat was fatty and it wasn't as tasty as she would have liked. She did enjoy the coleslaw. Clyde opted for the soup and half egg salad sandwich combo. He enjoyed it. My friend ordered the stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. She said it was very good. She really liked the sweet sauce that covered the cabbage. The people sitting behind us were sharing a piece of carrot cake. It was such a big piece and they looked like they were enjoying it. I asked them if it was good and they assured me it was delicious. The serving sizes were super large, especially the sandwiches. The food was good, but not great. I would certainly go back and give them another try.

Good neighborhood deli on Miami Beach. I order the lunch special, half and roast beef sandwich and Matzah ball soup. It hit the spot, soup was hot and. maths b as 'll want perfect. The sandwich was stacked high

We were meeting locals at Roasters Deli. While seated & visiting, my husband noticed a roach on the wall behind my kids heads. He gets up and kills it. Then a few minutes later we see 2 more on the wall and on the booth we were sitting at. Staff apologized and moved us to another table. We had already ordered or we would have left. They did not take anything off our bill, only brought us a stale brownie. I could not enjoy my meal for thoughts of bugs. I do not recommend this place. Once I started looking around I realized it was pretty dirty. Staff was friendly, that's the only good thing about this place.

Typical deli/cafe shop you would see in NYC. Their Bagels are awesome!

  • Jude E.

I'm not going to spend a bunch of time on this review. I will just say the eggs were an over cooked rubbery mess and nothing tasted good. An extra star for the busboy who was nice.

  • Keren B.

Great neighborhood Deli. I love Rosa the waitress, so quick and to the point, we come a lot after dropping off the kids at North Beach elementary, for coffee or breakfast or bagels - the food is always fresh, service is always quick and we always meet friends and neighbors. Probably 90% of the patrons are regulars! So that tells you something! Excellent spot! Try their muffins! Simply irresistable.

  • V D.

Food is decent, but service is pretty bad. They're not friendly and food takes way longer than the average restaurant. Be ready to be there for at least 1.5-2 hrs. If you do go, Pastrami and Reuben are good.

    (3)
  • Riad N.

Good simple deli. Fast service and I ways get the hard beef salami sandwich. The matzo ball soup was not my favorite.

  • Amy W.

Looking for a solid breakfast / lunch place in Miami? Roasters & Toasters has become a regular stop any time we're there. The selection, service and food are well above average. I'm always a fan of a family run restaurant where they talk to you like you're a family member. My #1 - Potato latkes - greasy, delicious goodness accompanied with sides of sour cream and applesauce I've never gone wrong with any of their breakfast items. The pastrami sandwich is a big winner for lunch. You can't go wrong with homemade pickles, either.

  • Frank M.

The omelette was overlooked and the bagels are mealy. The service is crappy and the food is overpriced. Go to bagels and company on biscayne for much better bagels and omelets.

    (1)
  • Ron M.

I have found the food to be okay, but the service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. Where does it say that a hostess needs to be mean and condescending to work at this place... Not worth the wait and definite don't need to be ignored at these prices...

  • Alon D.

I love this chain I've been going here for years. However I have one complaint. Today I got the corned beef hash delivered. Now usually I wouldn't be complaining about anything at this place (besides the hot chocolate which is also terrible) but the corned beef hash was absolutely awful. It tasted like it was right out of the can. Besides that the place is great. The service is outstanding, the food is okay, and the people are radiant. Please do yourself a favor, don't order the corned beef hash.

    (3)
  • Elizabeth D.

Where have you been all my life?! Probably the best white fish I've ever had, hands down. The service is not super friendly, but they get it done. Good coffee, good food, no frills, in and out. Do it.

  • Laure M.

Huge portions, huge menu, lots of choices, service quick enough for a quick lunch, my kind of place!

    (4)
  • Melanie Y.

This place sucks. Service is slow and rude. The food is waaaay overpriced. $18 for whitefish salad on a bagel? Yeah ok. Are we in Manhattan? The matzo ball soup had zero flavor and the corned beef was dry. Skip this one.

  • Edward W.

Not fancy-schmancy, but you'll find great NY Jewish-style deli food at this Miami Beach restaurant. Mounds of perfect pastrami, beautiful corned beef, or terrific turkey will make R&T's sandwiches too big to fit in all but the biggest mouths. Cole slaw is home made and delish. A whole dill pickle comes with the Sammie. Salads are huge, too, with the tasty Cobb coming with loads of add ons, like sliced deli turkey, a hard boiled egg, and a special treat - crispy pastrami morsels. Oy vey! You won't go away hungry, though some might find the prices a little spendy. For me it's worth it, as you are sure to get a big hunk of NYC flavor right here in Miami.

    (4)
  • Ryne P.

The food was great! The service was responsive, but direct. They were obviously busy. For example, they would yell across the room to communicate with each other. Though this might seem rude, it didn't bother me. There was a bit of a wait but totally worth it. I would come here again AND recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Considering that every "New York" deli in south florida serves National Deli corned beef, and practically nothing is truly homemade, I shouldn't have been surprised. This place sucked. The corned beef was so dry I could barely choke it down. The potato knish could've been good if it didn't have a strong margarine taste. The pickles were gross. The half sour had no taste and was mushy. And the sour had a really bad taste. The sorry excuse for cole slaw they served me in a plastic container was anything but cole slaw. No flavor. Lastly, the service. As a former New Yorker who loves real New York delis, I'm accustomed to rude servers. The ladies here weren't rude. They were indifferent. Four of them sat at a table in the back and basically ignored the customers. Bottom line is there is NOTHING New York about this place. And as far as run of the mill mass produced deli meats there are better options in Miami.

Loved it here! We were in Miami for 3 days and ended up having 2/3 lunches here. Great options, big menu, delicious food and friendly service.

4.5 stars. A little on the pricey side ($14.50 for a sandwich), but it was well worth it. I ordered the Reuben Combo (Corned beef & Pastrami), and it was a sandwich loaded up with meat, in a delicious rye bread, and swiss cheese. Just amazing. I say 4.5 just because it took a loooong while to get the sandwich, and because after the tip and taxes, a sandwich with a soda was $23. The sandwich though was spectacular

Maybe if you have a few HOURS to kill this place would work out for you, otherwise don't waste your TIME. A friend & I stopped by here for breakfast being its close to the Dunkin Donuts on 41st. It took over 5 minutes to get a menu & we were then served water by our waiter. 10 minutes goes by and another waiter comes to take our order after trying to flag down just about anyone to order. After we place our simple order of egg dishes, one being the daily special, we sat there for over 50 minutes with no service and no food. Our waiter came over to us 2 separate times and said our food would be out in "2 minutes" well it was the longest 2 minutes of our lives. We are not ones to complain or rush, but almost an hour waiting for eggs is nuts especially when we are on vacation and would rather be on the beach. Needless to say, I am unable to rate the food because we did something neither of us would never do, we walked out. I would not recommend this place to anyone and actually advised people on the walk to our hotel NOT to go there. It seems as if we weren't the only unhappy customers here either.

lots has been said about this place so i will try to keep my review short. went for lunch twice. the first time i ordered a pastrami sandwich and fries for pick up and that came out to about $200 and they forgot about my fries. i realized when i was back at the office? (really, the house from which i was working from) so i had to go back and get my fries. i wasnt thrilled. so i went back like a good masochist i am but this time i read through the entire menu and got me a lunch special. much better in prices. the food is good. good quality ingredients and friendly service. i can see myself going back and getting the pork special... relax, relax. i kid, i kid.

Nice try but we have much better New York delis in Broward county (I.e the Pastrami club, pomperdale's,etc). Service slow and inefficient...except for the busboy who was the only one who took notice of me waiting to be seated....I ordered a 1/2 pastrami sandwich in eye with a bowl of matzoh ball soup and a side of what they call black & tan onion rings...soup was excellent except they microwaved the matzoh ball and dropped it in giving it a strange texture and nearly burning my mouth when I cut into it...the onion rings were very good served with a side of homemade sour cream based onion dip...the rings batter were flavored by an obvious dark beer...very good and they were cooked to perfection...after waiting too long for my 1/2 sandwich which I had to remind them of it came piled high as expected but with fairly cold (tepid) pastrami that was tough to chew...not good for a New York deli where the meat should practically melt in your mouth...overall I give this place three stars just for still being here a number of years while most of these type of restaurants are dying out...that's unfortunate!

  • Danielle C.

My family just walked out of here because of terrible service...we didn't even order. We sat at the table for 15 minutes while multiple employees walked past us and ignored us. The place wasn't even busy. My grandmother politely asked if someone could attend to us and the guy mumbled angrily that we have to wait a minute. Unbelievable. I have no clue if the food is good or not, but I would not spend my money somewhere where my family is treated so rudely.

I think it's the best NYC style deli experience in Miami Beach with friendly service. The food and environment are laid back... How can you go wrong with a deli in the Orthodox Jewish corner of South Florida?

    (4)
  • Ethan G.

It took them 45 minutes to make 2 chef salads....not very well managed. It's a shame there is not many options on 41st street.

This is a great breakfast joint with amazing flavors, fluffy eggs and ridiculous portions. I went with my wife for Saturday breakfast and had a great meal. We had the chocolate pancakes to start which where delicious and BIG. We moved into some amazing French toast with Nutella and freshly made omelette. We totally over order as the portions are sharing portions. This spot would get 5 stars only if the environment was nicer and felt welcoming. It's not bad as breakfast cafeteria goes but a nice look would be so much better.

I must have been Jewish in a past life because I love me some good NYC Style Deli food and let me tell ya, this place is where you wanna be if you want the BEST. My reuben sandwich was absolutely AMAZING and I could barely open my mouth wide enough to take a bite of it! The Chicken/Matzoh Ball Soup was hearty and delicious. Also if you are a fan of pickles the ones from here are A+. Our server and the rest of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. If you havent been here and live in Miami Beach, then get with the program and pay this fabulous establishment a visit. They've been open since 1984 and are going on as strong as ever, which says a lot about them!

I'm not Jewish. But I am fat. Errrr, healthy. Sturdy. Resistant to famine. And if there's one thing my shockingly well-toned Episcopalian ass knows, it's that the Jews know their deli meat. No lips and/or assholes to be found in their salami, no sir. Here's the thing. The sandwiches here are good enough that you'd kill your own mother with a broken ketchup bottle for just one more sweet, sweet, succulent bite of their delicious, sumptuous sumptuous deliciousness. Or maybe that's just me. I've crammed any number of their meat-filled sandwiches down my sandwich-hole, and my personal favorite is the Jewish Cuban. Hey, it could happen! Wifey is obsessed with the Pastrami Rachel. And the pickles are wonderful. I like to dress them up like Lego knights and have them battle to the death, but I suppose you could also eat them. If you're into that sort of thing. Also, after approximately 15 take-out orders, the people at the counter know who I am. And the pater familius knew from whence my strange cell phone area code hailed. Goes to show, down here, everyone is from somewhere else.

Roasters and Toasters is a neighborhood deli that serves solid food in a no-frills atmosphere. I am more of a fan of their South Miami location, but the Miami Beach Roasters comes in handy when I don't feel like making the drive. The food is decent - not the best, but definitely tasty in a comfort food kind of way. I usually go for hot corned beef on a toasted bagel but have sampled most of the menu thanks to friends who don't mind sharing. Highlights include the omelets and fritatas, which are HUGE as well as their sandwiches. The pickles are also very good. A word of warning - call ahead on weekends to see how long the wait will be. This place fills up fast.

Excellent, casual Jewish deli! Now called Roasters n' Toasters, this place looks like it hasn't changed since about 1965. Although this is on a street with lots of kosher restaurants (Chinese, sushi, pizza, etc.), this is Jewish style but not kosher. I had a potato knish, steak fries (amazing) and a pastrami sandwich. Everything was just as it should be... tasting just like it would at a deli in New York. I wish we had a place this good in St. Louis.

    (4)
  • Dan D.

Very good Reuben with pastrami and corned beef. The salad looked great and could have fed two people easily. The staff was great (especially with our young son). The decor was a little lacking, but a very good sandwich spot and would recommend it for something close to what you would get in New York.

This place is so good I went here twice on a short 3 day vacation. During the two trips, we ordered smoked fish (nova, belly lox, sable, whitefish salad) with poppy seed bagels and cream cheese, a corned beef reuben, corned beef hash, and chicken soup with a matzah ball. Pretty much all of the Jewish classics for two people. Yeah, we ain't small people. The smoked fish was flavorful and the belly lox were nice and salty. The bagels are the real deal and the corned beef reuben was overflowing with shaved beef. I can't think of anything bad about this place, hence the 5 stars.

  • V R.

Pleasantly surprised! Selection is great, portions are generous and the food is yummy! I'd come here everyday if I was local :). The Smiley Face cookies were soft and well iced! Hits the spot!

My craving for comfort food and matzo ball soup to cure my cold led me here on a recent Wednesday afternoon. The matzo ball soup was uneventful, the broth needed additional seasoning and stock, the noodles were more corkscrewish than noodle soupish. What did surprise me was that the chicken in the soup was cut up in cubes rather than delicately broken off piece by piece. My half pastrami sandwich technically correct, but it did not taste as I had imagined it. The pastrami was a little tougher and thicker than I remembered. I'll come back if I have to, but I should start researching for a new deli....

  • Jennifer N.

As far as delis go, Roasters and Toasters is just ok in my book. Granted- I am totally spoiled by good NY and LA delis that have some of the best pickles I have ever tasted. But let's see- I had the chicken salad. A bit too much mayo for me.. not trying to drink my sandwich, thanks. Potato pancakes and apple sauce though were quite good- and huge portion! Matzo ball soup was just okay- not a whole lot of matzo. So three stars, it's a good lunch spot, but a bit overpriced. Also- its set up like a pizza parlor (read old school plastic benches), and service is less than attentive.

Best lox bagels and sandwiches in Miami . They deliver to the beach and run the place like true pros. Love it here and it reminds me of New York.

This is my breakfast spot in Miami. Sadly it took me way too long to find it but there's no reason to cry over spilled milk. Here's the so what: Food. Delicious. I normally order the omelette with a few fixings. Meal comes with bagel (get the whole wheat) and a side (potato, grits or tomato) . You can't go wrong with whole wheat pancakes and a cold glass of milk. Prices are decent, especially since the omelette I mentioned can feed two people. Atmosphere: Think diner meats jewish deli in brooklyn. Plenty of seating but this place gets busy during the week and can get packed on the weekends. Recommend getting here before 9am. Service is very good, never have to ask for a refill or anything else for that matter. Parking. Park on the street ($$) or there's parking lot in the back. Your choice. Great food, good service and decent prices. Like I said, my breakfast spot on the beach.BZ.

  • Kevin M.

If I were judging the food alone I'd rate 3 stars. Service would also get 3 stars - mainly because the dine-in staff tries. Kitchen gets 2 stars, and decor/ambiance gets ZERO. One of those places you smell like when you leave... anyone heard of an exhaust fan? Takeout? Bring a book... waited over 20 minutes recently for a sandwich that required NO cooking or toasting at all. Oh, and paid $13 for the privilege! The fact that this place is so busy is evidence of how badly 41st Street needs a good diner.

This place is by far one of my favorite delis. Whether in Kendall or the beach one. breakfast served all day :-)

Yelp led me to this wonderful, New York style deli, I had lox and bagel and it was excellent, my sister had a full breakfast, and she enjoyed it immensely. If you are on Miami Beach don't miss this place!

Miami Beach's best deli, and the only good one, believe it or not.. they have very good breakfasts and sandwiches etc. the portions are very large so you can share. it is very basic inside. they have good service and there is plenty of parking,

This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in South Beach, Miami. "Big Steve" and his crew really know how to cook some classic Jewish food. They have great breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Some of my favorite breakfast items are the challah french toast and the chocolate Bobka french toast. Some of my favorite lunch items are the greek salad with grilled chicken and a variety of sandwiches that they make such as the reuben. The only issue I have with this that if you come during peak hours (lunch hour) you may have to wait a bit to get a seat. However, "Big Steve" does a great job of getting his customers in and out. Keep doing what you are doing Roasters and Toasters! Can't wait to come back next year when I am in South Beach!

Very cool place to get a morning bite. Healthy tasty food. Good atmosphere, sortof reminds me of loverly New York. More of an American joint, not a type of cafe con leche y una tostada place. Lol. I always get a toasted bagel with scrambled eggs+ham+cheese and it def hits the spot..... Oh, and if you went party hardy late last night around the area, you can catch a lot of ppl from the clubs sobering and hangin out here. Just an FF for ya. Haha. So green lights and thumbs up for Roasters n Toasters.

Solid jewish food, consistently bad service, but worth it. The portions are large so save some coin and split them. Worth trying the : Pea soup and Matza Ball soup Great cob salad - turkey bacon is a nice touch Good tuna Excellent bagels High quality nova Bonus time: pickles and slaw on the table

I can't say anything negative about this place!!! Well, maybe one, or two - but who cares, the food is amazing, and HUGE - I'd suggest sharing with someone else. It's very discombobulated when you first walk in, no one really talks to you - then they ask how many and sort of point at a table - no certain one, just at a large group of them. After that, we had a great time. I got the Ruben - and my wife got an Omelet - both equally good. Highly recommended!

I've been going to Roasters & Toasters since it was Arnie and Richies (years and years ago.) It's a true deli and has everything that you could want in a deli but the actual restaurant and vibe of the place isn't good for younger audiences (college students, young adults, etc.) It is very Jewish and a great example of the 41st community. Since I grew up eating here monthly, I see at least 3 people that I know every time but they're all ancient. Eating there makes me feel like I'm eating at my Grandmother's retirement home there are so, so many old people every single time. If you are looking for an authentic deli that the locals flock to, though, this is exactly it.

This is a great spot for lunch of breakfast & lunch. No matter what you order, you'll definitely have left-overs for later and a food coma 30 minutes after you leave. My favorites here are the French toast and the omelets. They also have very friendly and professional wait staff.

Portions are enormous.... Service is so so... Very much like your ny deli's, seems to always have patrons as well. They must have a good following. I would go back!

In a few words, this place is good but slow. I ordered the roast beef and chicken noodle soup. It took almost 40 minutes to get it out. On the other hand the Roast beef sandwich was huge. It was packed full of meat and any meat lover would be satisfied. The soup was average. In fact I would almost say that the soup was from a can. Except for the slow service this place is pretty good. Stay with the sandwiches and stay away from soups and you cant go wrong.

Reuben was great, there thousand island is home made and makes all the difference. The brisket and roast beef are fresh made also. They have cheap breakfast before 9am. Sunday morning there is usually a long line but worth the wait. I want a brisket sandwich right now!!!!

I work 4 blocks from this place and it's my go-to for lunch delivery. They are very timely and whoever takes the phone orders always makes me laugh with a corny joke. The food is great! So far I've tried the tossed salad with tuna, the cranberry tuna wrap, the BBQ brisket sandwich, and the turkey club. I have yet to be disappointed. Their tuna salad is one of the best I've had. Everything is fresh and flavorful. It's the kind of food you have to fight to stop eating long after you're full because it's just so damn tasty.

The short of it: this place needs to expand. I am a big fan of Roasters & Toasters and this was my first time at this location. With that said, I'll go out of my way to visit the other location. I came here around 10:30-11 on a Thursday and it was CROWDED. Service was rushed and my table was broken up to accommodate other parties. Now I am the type of person who thinks that NY-ers are friendly and I'm familiar w/ NY-style dining but something about the place just didn't vibe with me. Anyhow, food is on par with the other locations and I guess that's what's really important, isn't it? Oh and as is the norm w/ the beach, you have to pay for parking. My whole experience was mega-annoying but the food is good so maybe I won't mind the next time.

This place is good it was much better when it was Arnie's and Riches. The quality has gone down alot. Then again there are not that many deli's around still so I stop in for my weekend bagel. the bagels are actually pretty good, and crunchy. The service is good too, they definately need a renovation though this inside is just gross.

When I lived in the Gables I wished I had the convenience of a Jewish deli down the street to satisfy my corned beef on rye cravings, so it was heaven when I moved to the mid-beach area and found out that Arnie & Richie's was walking distance from my house! Their corned beef is yummy - but be warned - the sandwich comes hot (which I wasn't used to). They also have delicious rare roast beef. Their egg sald is yummy. And they have some of the best smoked fish around. Granted, the prices rival any Jewish deli anywhere, but it's well worth it. A&R has a full menu (there's a full kitchen in the back), and they have amazing breakfasts, including tasty cheese grits. The challah french toast is awesome. They have decent burgers and hot sandwiches, including a tasty BBQ beef one. The potato salad and macaroni salad are both very yummy. And their chopped liver is some of the best I've had. The guys who work the deli counter are great, and always seem to know when you need help (since there's not really a system to ordering). The place gets pretty crowded around breakfast & lunch on the weekends - so snag the first available table you see!

I guess I'm just not that easy to please. This place hasn't changed dramatically from the Arnie and Richie days which isn't saying much either way. Decent diner/deli/breakfast food and decent to sometimes slow service. Nothing to write home about. Good place to stop sometimes. Two examples of FAR, FAR better pastrami/corned beef sandwiches are: yelp.com/biz/pomperdale-… and yelp.com/biz/pastrami-cl… Many examples of better breakfasts. Like I say though, it's fairly decent and often convenient. Park in the back public parking lot and use the back entrance.

I got a pastrami sandwich here and it was phenomenal. Husband had corn beef hash and he was raving about it. We will definitely be back. Probably the best deli in Miami Beach as far as i am concerned.

Came here for breakfast, without reading any reviews or knowing anything about this deli. Service was good, our food was brought to us really quickly and I had the BEST french toast I've had in my life on Challah bread! I'm not a fan of french toast but these ones are to die for!

I love this place! The best pastrami and corned beef sandwiches I have ever had. Their chicken liver, out of this world. Skip Jerry's Deli and go just a bit out of your way to get here. The sandwiches are so huge, you usually have to take half home.

This place has a good, old-timey, kind of vibe. Seems like everyone knew each other and were glad to spend a minute catching up. The food is good. Large portions. They are very generous with the servings of meat- 1/2 a sandwich would fill most.

VERY TASTY! This place is a lot of fun and is a great nod to the typical New York / Jewish style deli. The layout and decor is casual, of course, but they did a good job of recreating the classic deli. Zagats rated this very, very high as well. It's such a nice departure from all the fancy and exotic quisine offered in Miami Beach. Comfort foods that make you feel like you're at home - no matter where you live. Portions are ENORMOUS and we sat by the kitchen so we saw a lot of dishes come out. Tip: Hungry? Get your sandwich Carnegie-style! It's a full POUND of meat (in this case, corned beef). My wife and I were actually laughing at the size of it all! She said I couldn't finish but I had to prove her wrong and they had to roll me out of there. AND it comes with two pickles, a BIG plate of fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was good, not great. The fries were not very good (undercooked) but I didn't care b/c I had that mammoth sandwich!! My wife LOVED everything about this place. She got the Nova Lox plate. LOTS of food and she couldn't stop raving about the quality. Service was attentive and quick. You can shop for all kinds of breads, Jewish delicacies and desserts to take with you up at their counter. Price was a bit high for a deli but the value was definitely there. This is the kind of place you bring your parents when they come into town.

I was so surprised on our recent trip to Miami to see that a new name was above one of my favorite old Jewish delis (Arnie & Richie's) but, after stepping inside and having a fabulous lunch....I'll be back! The new owners have REALLY updated the place and I'll agree that it is much cleaner. I always thought the food was incredible before the name change but it was rather old school, as far as the setting, and very cluttered. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and not just out to jack up the tally of the bill. Our waitress suggested that we were ordering too much at first and she was right. We had a wonderful meal~ melt in your mouth fresh bagels with nova lox etc. MMMMM! My only wish is that they were open a bit later for some post-beach dinner!! ;-)

Awesome hole in the wall place. All locals by the looks of it. Good solid Deli/Diner menu, huge portions, good prices.

One of the best places to eat breakfast or lunch in Miami Beach. Prompt friendly service from Steve and the staff. Huge portions, reasonable prices. Try the lox platter for breakfast. Cranberry spinach salad was awesome. Deli isn't quite up to New York standards, but this isn't New York, and you're not paying New York prices.

This place has the BEST French Toast in Miami!!! The chicken, avocado wrap with balsamic vinaigrette is also AMAZING. I Love this place! Every time I'm in town I have to make a visit. It's a must. But shhh its a secret.

You don't come here for the ambiance. You do come here for hearty portions of deli and Jewish fare like bagels and lox, matzoh brei, sandwiches, etc. Iced coffee was just right, service was quick, and the prices are very reasonable (especially in stark contrast to the $4 bagels at our hotel).

Best deli deal on the Beach. Not much to look at, but food is great along with the prices. Avoid Jerry's if u want an authentic Jewish deli at a REASONABLE PRICE. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Closes at 3 or 4pm.

Classic NYC style Jewish Deli. I cant comment on the service (which I hear is not so good) since I ordered delivery so my review is strictly based on what I ate. Simple, turkey sandwich all the way on wheat. Bread was very good, turkey was great (very fresh tasting with really good flavor), veggies were good, no complaints. The sand which was on point, turkey was piled high and I was wanting another the following day.

OMG, JUST AWFUL SANDWICHES. Son's eggs and corned beef hash were quite good. and the hash tasted fresh. But the pastrami sandwich was the worst ever - rubbery awful tasteless meat. And the pot roast sandwich I ordered was dry and tasteless. And this was not a cheap meal. Never ever going back. Also place does not feel super clean. Needs a mop.

  • Leigh E.

This place is perfect for what it is: a good old fashioned NY-style Jewish deli/diner. The food is hardly delicate or inspired, but the bagels taste like they're straight from my grandparents' bagelry in Long Island, the portions are huge, and the service is friendly. I would give the food 3/3.5 as compared to every other breakfast restaurant on earth, but given that I live in Miami Beach and that there is a dearth of quality breakfast options in the area, I have to give it a 4. Context matters, people. Truly a solid choice.

If you ever have a hankering for NY deli food & can't get to NY, this place will hit the spot. Hot pastrami or fresh turkey carved off the bone on rye bread with a half sour pickle, cole slaw & potato salad will be fine, and on a cold or sick day, one of their soups. Update - fresh turkey no longer on menu :-( but they have regular turkey breast

The food is delicious!! A little pricey, but worth it! When they bring my huge reuben out, I always think "wow, this thing is ridiculously huge, there is no way I am going to finish that!" Then, I start eating it and can't stop. Mmmmm, delicious reuben, how I love you. I've also had the BLT, grilled chicken spinach wrap, and breakfast and everything has been great. I highly recommend this place, but be prepared to pay.

I understand that every restaurant has an off day and I really wanted this to be our weekend breakfast place so I gave it three tries. The service was consistently slow and this last time there was an issue with my order of lox (they only gave me half an order). Instead of just bringing me the rest they took my plate to the deli counter to add more. They added the one more slice and then just left my plate sitting on the counter. It sat there for at least 4 minutes with people walking by and I started to get grossed out. I went to the counter to see if I could take it back to my table and the guy behind the counter said no, that I had to wait for the server to bring it to me and basically said he didn't think it was my order. When I persisted (because I didn't want it just sitting out in the open) he finally got our servers attention and confirmed it was my order. As I was about to walk back to my table, he said "Aren't you cute... So.. impulsive", in a very patronizing tone. I've never been spoken to that way as a paying customer and I definitely won't be back.

Great Ny Style deli with a really good pastrami sandwich and other traditional goodies like lox, corned beef, etc. Please order the over-sized "Pastrami Rachel" ( inlcudes sweet cole slaw inside, and russian dressing on rye) and let me know how it goes. DELICIOUS!!!!

What can I say about this place that isn't great!!! I grew up with this place as Arnie and Richies and was suprised to see the new name but some familiar faces was nice. The wait was not long on a Sunday afternoon at around 1230 and the place was packed!!! But they kept it moving very smoothly. Great attention by the staff and quick service also. The waitress was very attentive and came by numerous times to see if we were ok. I had a hard salami on kaiser wiht munster cheese with some steak fries that was awesome!! Mom had the lochs on rye and nephew had an 8oz cheese burger. All were very satisfied. To me it will always be Arnie and Richies but if you are lookinf for a full on deli experience check it out. I need a place like this in homestead. They are Zagat rated also.

SUPER NOM!!! First of all they have bottled diet Arizona brand peach tea. They had me there, at that point they really could have done no wrong. Portions are HUGE, after our second visit in 3 days we decided that next time, we share. Seriously, the omlettes have to have 5 or 6 eggs in them. And the sandwiches are those piles of deli meat where the bread is almost superflous. Yes, I said it The bread is superflous. Also bagels! I love bagels, and they were so good. You can tell how much I love this place by how disjointed and rambling my review is. Also I know some people said it was kinda pricey, but both days we ate there, complete with two bottled teas, it was under $20. OH and THE CHICKEN SOUP!!! FREAKING AMAZING!!!!

Everything you want and need in terms of a jewish deli!! Move over Canter's, Carnegie, Manny's, Arnie & Richie's beats all of you. This place beats any jewish deli I have had to date, anywhere. The smoked fish comes in daily and is wonderful. I had scrambled eggs with nova lox and a salt bagel... I was expecting to be whisked back to memories of New York but I would blown away. New York couldn't compare!!! All of the snowbirds brought the best of their food down here with them. I heard stories that Miami Beach use to be packed with places like this, Rascal's, Wolfie's, etc. It is a shame that all except this places closed. Next time it is going to be Trent vs. the pastrami!

My husband calls this place "Phil's Deli" (because he's old school Miami). I call it Arnie and Richie's. My daughter calls it Roasters and Burgers (We don't know why. She's 3). Whatever you call it, you should go here on Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings work, too. Heck, you could go on a Tuesday, if you don't have to work. Whenever you go, just go. If you opt for breakfast, get a bagel. Swipe some cream cheese on it. Add some lox, if your into that. This is, after all, Miami's closest thing to a NY deli. I usually hit this spot for lunch. And I always get a grilled cheese. They put about 2.6 pounds of butter on it, which makes it spectacular. The fries that come on the side are of the shoestring variety. But, if you don't like pickles, tell them to keep 'em off the plate because if you don't, you'll wind up with a monstrous pickle sitting next to your sammy. Sammies also come with cole slaw, but I always give it to whomever is with me, because I dont care for slaw. Whomever that is is generally happy, so I'm assuming it's good. The bottled lemonade is awesome. And dessert comes from the counter with all kinds of options. Today, we opted for the basic black and white cookie. And it hit the spot. Just like it does every time.

Oh my goodness! This place is incredible. I'm still dreaming about the hot pastrami on rye and the chicken soup with matzo ball. My friend ordered eggs over easy, corned beef hash, everything bagel with whipped cream cheese. Needless to say, we ate in silence except for the occasional groan of delight. DEEEEE-lish.

  • Stu M.

The belly lox is the best and they give you slot, more then one can eat, but they skimp on the cream cheese which is less expensive then the lox. One day I ordered scrambled eggs and got a dried scorched omelet cut up. It had grey spots and was unappealing . Too bad I will only eat the lox there for breakfast

Wow- Roasters and Toasters is absolutely stellar! We had a weekend celebration for our Mom's 80th birthday, with the breakfast at Roasters and Toasters. The proprietor, Steve, was warm and welcoming, making the entire morning a huge success. Their menu has every Jewish deli item we grew up with, and everything was ultrascrumptious. Really fresh bagels, lox, amazing whitefish salad, pastrami, knishes- you could eat there every day for weeks and still not sample them all. The whitefish salad was the best we'd ever had, (and we're Jewish deli mavens from NY, Miami, and San Francisco). Each dish was so fresh and so delicious that we ordered another whole meal to take home for supper! Huge applause for Steve, his family, and the whole Roasters and Toasters crew!
